A standard strategy meetings tactic is to focus the team toward tackling the “low hanging fruit”, the quick wins instead of the larger, more difficult challenges. An article by The Balanced Career warns, “true rewards often come from climbing higher and stretching for the real treasure in the higher branches.”

In Genesis 41:52 says, “’And the second son he named Ephraim, meaning, ‘God has made me fruitful in the land of my affliction.’”

The high hanging fruit represents the more difficult challenges, challenges that will require stretching of the leadership, will require risk, they will be painful at points to walk through. Confronting the high hanging fruit will in turn produce more fruit.

Consider what is holding you back from reaching higher to grab ahold of the high hanging fruit.
