A recent article by the Center for Creative Leadership defines effective communication in five simple steps: communicate relentlessly, simplify and be direct, listen and encourage input, illustrate through stories and finally affirm with action.

In the absence of clear, direct and affirming communication unfounded expectations are established. These unfounded expectations have the potential to create silos and division between managers and subordinates and between departments.

Christ is one of the greatest examples of communication, and therefore he delivers very clear expectations the weight of our speech. Mathew 12:37 says, “By your words you will be declared innocent, or by your words you will be declared guilty.”

Effective communication is the key to bring into the light expectations for the organization. What business expectations do need to articulate with greater clarity?
